Brazilian Cherry Hardwood Floors (Jatoba)

Brazilian Cherry (or Jatoba) hardwood floors are rated among the hardest and most resilient hardwoods for use as flooring. The Janka Hardness Scale rates Brazilian Cherry at 2350 when compared to Red Oak’s approx. 1260. This amazing hardwood is photosensitive,  changing its color as it ages from a rich, tonally varied brown to a lustrous burgundy. The flooring boards are produced with a tongue and groove on all four sides for a more straightforward installation.   The natural beauty and hardness of Brazilian cherry are preserved by seven coats of UV cured satin finish.  This finish not only protects the flooring surface, but also retains the original color for a longer period of  time.

Mazama offers a 25 year finish warranty for Satin Pre-finished Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors. This variety is applied with 6 coats of UV cured finish, including aluminum oxide.

Solid Kempas Hardwood Floors

Kempas hardwood flooring is the hardest, most dent resistant exotic species of hardwood flooring available worldwide. If compared to approx. 1260 for Red Oak, Kempas has Janka hardness of 1710. Mazama Kempas is 3/4" x 3 5/8". Board lengths are 1'-6' with an average length over 30", B Grade lengths are 36", and the boards are available with tongue and groove on all four edges.  Kempas is treated with 6 coats of Trevert brand polyurethane with aluminum oxide for utmost protection.

Mazama provides a lifetime residential finish warranty for Semi-Gloss Prefinished Kempas flooring. This variety is applied with 6 coats of UV cured finish, including aluminum oxide and has micro-beveled edges on all 4 sides.
